Scale of programStatewide Brief description of sampling locationsThere are a total of 196 Surface Water Ambient Network (SWAN) sites. A spatially balanced approach to SWAN site selection across Queensland is currently implemented. The sites were selected based on end of system, trend analysis and/or reference condition value. Frequency of monitoringSamples are collected at either one, three or four month intervals depending on the site.
