Scale of programRegional and catchment or basin scale Brief description of sampling locationsEnd of catchment and major sub-catchments - 29 gauging stations to gather data over a long period of time (30 years). Single land use and small catchments - ‘mini’ gauging stations at 10 sites. Rising stage samplers may also be installed at some sites. Frequency of monitoringStream flow rates are calculated from continuously logged stream water level height measurements using site specific rating curves. Water quality sampling is conducted throughout major flow events. It is also conducted on a monthly basis during periods of base flow conditions.
