Pressure - Water Temperature

This stressor is to do with the direct input of water to a wetland that is of an unnatural temperature (i.e. the inflowing water is hotter or colder than the wetland’s water temperature).

Sources of hot/cold water to wetlands:

  • Hot or cold water can be released into wetlands from point sources, urban areas via stormwater outflows or from upstream impoundments.

Pressure (Source) indicators
Pressure indicator: number of stormwater inflows per km2 wetland
Pressure indicator:% of wetland adjoining urban land-us
Pressure indicator: number of point sources per km2 wetland
