Management - Conductivity

Management practices to reduce the load of ions entering a wetland:

  • Adequate buffer zones
  • Appropriate drainage that does not affect watertable levels
  • Appropriate environmental flow releases
  • Appropriate management of dryland salinity
  • Establishment of maximum irrigation drawdown limits
  • Government regulation (e.g. water extraction licenses)
  • Installation of appropriate flood gates (tide activated, etc.)
