Direct biota removal and disturbance from a wetland can result in:

  • Impacts on target species
  • Altered community structure and functioning

The removal of biota can have a variety of impacts on the ecosystem, including: change in the target species size range and abundance, changes in community structure, food webs, loss of species, biodiversity, etc.
