Click on parts of the image above or the buttons below to find out more! Non-floodplain rock lakes may include submerged or floating aquatic vegetation. These wetland habitats are typically fringed by either non-floodplain tree swamps, non-floodplain heath swamps or non-floodplain grass, sedge herb swamps. In the Wet Tropics, non-floodplain rock lakes usually exhibit an open water zone and a narrow fringing vegetation zone overhung with vegetation. In some cases, there may be dense, complex rainforest, while in south-east Queensland (Coalstoun Lakes), there may be low rainforest and vine thickets.
